Before you install

Install Ollama. It is the free program that runs the language model on your computer. Nyaya-Vision talks to it and to nothing else.
Open Nyaya-Vision. On first launch it fetches the model it needs, about 5 GB, once. After that it works without a connection.
16 GB of memory is comfortable. 8 GB will do for ordinary briefs; a thousand-page bundle wants the larger machine.

The first launch

macOS: drag the app into Applications, then right-click it and choose Open. A double-click is refused the first time, because the free edition is not notarised with Apple. This is Apple's gate, not a fault in the file.
Windows: run the installer. If SmartScreen objects, choose More info, then Run anyway.
Read the licence agreement to the end; the Accept button enables when you reach it. Registration is optional. Press Skip if you prefer.

Licence terms

The free edition is licensed, not sold, on an end user licence agreement shown at first launch. Its substance: use it for personal and professional work without charge; do not redistribute or reverse-engineer it; every output is to be verified by a qualified person before it is relied on; the software is supplied as is, with liability capped at ₹1,000; Indian law governs, and the courts at New Delhi have jurisdiction.

The full text is inside the program, and a copy is written to your computer when you accept it, with the version and the date. Pro and Enterprise are supplied under a separate written agreement.
